Eastern Fall Yearlings Sale to offer $500,000 Bonus for Preakness win

As part of the company’s on-going efforts to support its regional marketplaces, Fasig-Tipton will offer a $500,000 bonus tied to this year’s Fasig-Tipton Eastern Fall Yearlings sale.

The bonus will be awarded if a graduate of the 2026 Eastern Fall Yearlings Sale wins the 2028 Preakness Stakes (G1). All horses offered at the sale will be eligible, whether sold or reported as reserve not attained (RNA).

The $500,000 bonus will be divided equally, with $250,000 awarded to the horse’s owner at the time of the Preakness victory and $250,000 awarded to the horse’s owner at the time it was offered at the 2026 Eastern Fall Yearlings Sale.

“We are excited to offer this extra incentive to participants in this year’s Eastern Fall Yearlings Sale,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “The Preakness is an important fixture of American racing and an integral part of the fabric and identity of racing in the Midlantic region. With the 2028 Preakness set to be held at the fully rebuilt Pimlico Race Course, just nine miles from our Timonium sales grounds, it’s fitting to tie this bonus to the region’s major yearling auction.”

The Fasig-Tipton Eastern Fall Yearlings Sale will be held on Tuesday, October 27, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland beginning at 11 am.

Supplemental entries are now being accepted to the sale.
