The July Digital Sale closed Tuesday evening with 161 horses sold for $4,296,200. The catalogue featured two-year-olds, horses of racing age, breeding stock, which included mares with foals-at-foot, weanlings, yearlings, and a stallion prospect.

Nadette (FR) (hip 39), offered as a racing/broodmare prospect, sold for $420,000 to Stepaside Farm LLC from the consignment of Team Valor International. The five-year-old daughter of Outstrip (GB) sold from her stall at Colonial Downs, where she won the Beverly D. Preview S. by 4 3/4 lengths on July 13. She is nominated to the Beverly D. S. (G2), a Breeders' Cup "Win and You're In" qualifier, on August 10. Nadette, a listed stakes winner in her native France, has raced exclusively in stakes company since coming stateside for Team Valor, and won the Wilshire S. (G3) at Santa Anita two starts back on April 4.

"Team Valor is very happy with the sale of Nadette," said Barry Irwin, CEO of Team Valor International. "We changed our business model a couple of years ago to be more commercial, so that instead of consuming the product until the end of a horse's racing life, we look to sell them when they still have racing life left in them. With fillies and mares, it is always better to sell for a racing rather than a broodmare value. This worked out well for our partners."

Rounding out the top three prices were:

  • Right Prevails (hip 15), from the Lakin Estate & Thomas Partnership, sold for $310,000 to Sequel New York. The mare, a full sister to multiple Grade 1 placed graded stakes winner Closing Argument, sold with her 2024 produce, a New York-foaled colt by Jackie's Warrior, and was offered in foal to Forte.
  • One Front War (hip 37), sold for $220,000 to Maker from the consignment of Four Star Sales, agent. A three-year-old daughter of War Front, One Front War was second in her debut in maiden special weight company at Woodbine on July 11. She is a half-sister to six winners, included stakes winner No Fault of Mine, out of graded stakes winner Single Solution.

"This was our inaugural July Digital Sale and we're thrilled with the results," said Leif Aaron, Director of Digital Sales. "It was a very strong digital sale with record participation from buyers and sellers and a rock solid 83 percent clearance rate."

Overall, 161 offerings sold for $4,296,200. These included: 22 of 24 yearlings; 6 of 6 weanlings; 25 of 28 mares with foals-at-foot; 38 of 44 broodmares; and 60 of 78 racehorses.
