Lady Aurelia to Stonestreet for $7,500,000
Champion LADY AURELIA sold for $7,500,000 to take the lead at The November Sale. Offered as Hip 200, the exceptional daughter of SCAT DADDY was purchased by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings from the consignment of Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent.
LADY AURELIA captured the Prix Morny (G1) in France and Queen Mary S. (G2) at Royal Ascot in England at two, securing two-year-old championship in France and England. She became the first US-based horse to win a Cartier Award for her efforts. At three, she returned to Royal Ascot to take down the boys in the King’s Stand S. (G1). She raced primarily in Europe, but did secure a stakes win in North America at three, winning the Giant’s Causeway S. against older females. She won five of 10 starts for owners Stonestreet Stables, Peter Leidel, and George Bolton and trainer Wesley Ward, earning $834,945.
