First-Crop Nyquist Filly Sells for $325,000

Hip 703, a filly from the first crop of Nyquist, sold for $325,000 during the second session of the Kentucky October Yearlings sale. The chestnut filly was purchased by Calvin Nguyen, Meah/Lloyd Bloodstock, agent from the consignment of Dromoland Farm Inc. (Gerry Dilger), agent.

Eclipse Champion Male at 2 and 3, Nyquist won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) and the Kentucky Derby (G1) among his five Grade 1 victories. From the exceptional first crop of Leading Freshman Sire of 2015 Uncle Mo, Nyquist won eight of 11 starts and earned $5,189,200.

This is the second foal out of the graded stakes placed Dixie Union mare Ketel Twist. That mare is a half-sister to stakes winner and producer Catrageous. This dam Pedicure produced no less than seven winners, including Grade 2 winner and multiple graded stakes winner Masseuse and graded stakes placed stakes winners Buff and Second Performance. Pedicure is also the ancestress of Grade/Group 1 winners Peristaltica (ARG) and Sinfonia Fantastica, as well as graded stakes winners Royal Artillery and Green Mask.

Hip 703 was bred in Kentucky by Dell Ridge Farm LLC.
