Candy Ride Colt Takes the Lead at Kentucky October Yearlings

Hip 1503, a colt by Candy Ride (ARG), sold for $560,000 to take the lead late during the final session of the Kentucky October Yearlings sale. The bay colt was purchased by Carlo Vaccarezza from the consignment of Eaton Sales, agent.

Candy Ride is the sire of six champions, including Horse of the Year Gun Runner and Eclipse Champion Two-Year-Old Males Game Winner and Shared Belief.

This colt is out of the winning Empire Maker mare Vanquished, who has already produced five winners. Those include multiple Grade 2 winner Takeover Target, who earned $826,685, and graded stakes winner Ladies' Privilege. Vanquished is half-sister to eight other winners, including multiple Grade 1 winning millionaire Critical Eye and the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Shane's Girlfriend.

Hip 1503 was bred in Kentucky by Forging Oaks Farm.
