Bernardini Filly to Speedway for $335,000

Hip 85, a daughter of Bernardini, lit up the tote mid-day at the Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale when sold for $335,000. The dark bay or brown filly was purchased after working a quarter in 22:1 (video) by Speedway Stable from the consignment of Wavertree Stables, agent.

Bernardini is the sire of top fillies like Cavorting, Dame Dorothy, Rachel’s Valentine, and Angela Renee. This filly’s dam is the Lemon Drop Kid mare Christmas Lass, a full sister to Ashland S. (G1) winner Christmas Kid. Second dam is multiple graded stakes winner Christmas Gift who, in addition to Christmas Kid, has also produced multiple stakes winner Elusive Gift and Christmas Strike, who is the dam of a stakes winner among her eight winners to date.

Hip 85 was offered at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale, where she sold to Superfine Farms for $137,000 from the consignment of Blackburn Farm.
