Speedway Stables to $570,000 for First Crop Palace Filly
Hip 384, a filly from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Palace, sold for $570,000 at the Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale. The bay filly was purchased by Speedway Stable from the consignment of Eddie Woods, agent after working an eighth in 10.1 (video).
This Iowa-bred filly is by the speedy Palace, a son of the late City Zip, who counts the Forego S. (G1) and Vanderbilt H. (G1) among his seven stakes victories. Palace won 12 of 30 careers starts and earned more than $1.5 million.
Hip 384 is out of the winning Broken Vow mare Prenuptial Vow, making her a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Theperfectvow. This is the immediate family of champions Banshee Breeze and Twice Over (GB), as well as other Grade/Group 1 winners Antonoe, Mutual Trust, Hilda’s Passion, Passage of Time (GB), and Timepiece.
This filly was previously offered as a weanling at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale, where she was purchased for $140,000 by Northface Bloodstock from the consignment of Bluewater Sales.
