Ghostzapper Filly to Carlisle for $400,000
Hip 205, a filly by successful sire and emerging broodmare sire Ghostzapper sold for $400,000 at the Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale. The dark bay or brown filly was purchased by Lauren Carlisle, agent from the consignment of Pelican State Thoroughbreds, agent after working an eighth in 10:2 (video).
Ghostzapper is the sire of five champions and 35 graded blacktype winners from 11 crops of racing age, with progeny earnings of more than $72 million to date. Among his top female runners are champions Judy the Beauty and Holy Helena, as well as Grade 1 winners Paulassilverlining, Better Lucky, Contested, Molly Morgan, and Starship Truffles.
This filly is out of the Indian Charlie mare I’m Mom’s Favorite, winner of the 2013 Miss Preakness S. at nearby Pimlico. I’m Mom’s Favorite has produced two winners from as many to race, both fillies. Third dam is multiple Grade 1 winning millionaire Tout Charmont, whose seven winners include Grade 2 winner Dancing House and stakes winner Too Charming.
Hip 185 was previously offered at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale, where she sold for $185,000 to Mountmellick Farm from the consignment of Taylor Made Sales Agency.
