The 2026 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale continued Wednesday with the third of four sessions held at the Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, KY.

The session-topper, a filly by Nyquist (hip 996), sold for $725,000 to Ben Gowans, agent for Young Squirrel Stables, from the consignment of Gainesway, agent for Coteau Grove Farms (video). The dark bay or brown filly is out of the stakes placed Congrats mare Free Cover, making the filly a full sibling to current winning two-year-old Gaudreau, recently second in the Champagne S. (G1), and to two-time winner Undercover Girl. Hip 996 was bred in Louisiana by Coteau Grove Farms.

"The moment we saw her, we were just blown away," said Andrew Beck of Young Squirrel Stables. "She was the epitome of what we were looking for. Everything about her just screams racehorse."

A filly from the first crop of champion Forte (hip 1030) sold for $500,000 to Mayberry Farm from the consignment of Woods Edge Farm, agent (video). Out of the winning Ghostzapper mare Ghostslayer, the dark bay or brown filly is a half-sister to four winners to date, including graded stakes winner Biddy Duke (Bayern) and stakes placed Phantom Speed (Arrogate). The immediate family includes champions Folklore, Contrail, and Essential Quality, as well as current multiple Grade 1 stakes winner Tam Tam.

“Beautiful filly,” said Peter O’Callaghan of Woods Edge Farm. “She was a beautiful foal. She showed like a queen all week. We were delighted (with the price), beyond our expectations.”

"The numbers were pretty consistent with the first two days," said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. "Probably lacked a little of the star power, the upper end fireworks today that we had yesterday. I think were seeing a pretty consistent marketplace."

Through three sessions, 811 yearlings sold for $48,640,000, good for an average of $59,875. The median is $30,000 and the RNA rate is 21.6%.

The Kentucky October Yearlings sale resumes with its fourth and final session tomorrow at 10 AM. Results are available online.
