Maryland-bred Nyquist Colt Leads the Way at Midlantic Fall Yearlings

A colt by Nyquist (hip 18) topped the sale when sold for $370,000 to Scanlon Training & Sales from the consignment of Becky Davis, agent. Out of the winning Tiznow mare Hello Now, the dark bay or brown filly is a half-sister to four winners from as many to race, including eight-time stakes winner Hello Beautiful (Golden Lad) and stakes winner Hello Hot Rod (Mosler). Hip 202 was bred in Maryland by Holly House Farm & Sycamore Hall Thoroughbreds.
A filly from the first crop of Corniche (hip 17) rounded out the top three offerings when sold for $200,000 to Robert Lambe from the consignment of Northview Stallion Station, agent. The bay filly is out of the winning Bodemeister mare Logic of Absurdity, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Stormy Lucy and to the dam of Grade 2 winner Big Runnuer and multiple stakes winner Shifty. Hip 17 was bred in Maryland by Owen Kiernan (MD).
