Annually held in Timonium, Maryland, the Midlantic Fall Yearlings sale has long been a vibrant market in a region that offers more racing than any other in the country. Held in early October, the Midlantic Fall Yearlings sale regularly features a variety of yearlings eligible for any of the region’s lucrative state-bred programs.
In 2020, Midlantic Fall Yearlings will be held October 5-6 to coincide with the rescheduled Preakness Stakes (October 3) in nearby Baltimore. All New York-breds will be catalogued in a group to accommodate the needs of New York-based stock displaced by the cancellation of the New York Bred Yearlings sale due to COVID-19.
Recent Eclipse Champion Stellar Wind and Grade 1 winners Army Mule, Henley's Joy, and Long On Value are the latest in a long line of stars emerging from the Midlantic Fall Yearlings sale, which ranks among the top North American yearling sales by percentages of winners sold, two-year-old winners sold, and repeat winners sold.
