Elite Sales to Offer Separationofpowers at Fasig-Tipton November Sale
Elite Sales Press Release
Separationofpowers, a Grade 1 winner at both two and three, will be offered by Elite Sales at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale’s Night of the Stars on November 4. The four-year-old daughter of Candy Ride has been campaigned throughout her career by Seth Klarman’s Klaravich Stables and trained by Chad Brown.
“The Frizette and Test are the premier races for two-year-old and three-year-old fillies going one turn in New York. To win both puts her in a rare group, becoming just the fifth horse to do so joining champions Indian Blessing and Numbered Account along with elite fillies Society Selection and You,” said Elite Sales’ Bradley Weisbord.
Debuting at Saratoga in July of 2017, she became a TDN ‘Rising Star’ with a devastating 11 ¾-length victory, crushing seven two-year-old fillies. She has gone on to win two top-level races, with both occurring at New York Racing Association tracks. The first came at Belmont Park when she ran away with the Frizette at two, beating eventual Champion Caledonia Road by 3 ½ lengths. At three, she won a memorable edition of the Test, staging a stretch duel with Grade 1 winner Mia Mischief, ultimately prevailing in the Saratoga staple.
She returned to the winner’s circle at four when going gate to wire in the Grade 3 Bed O’ Roses at Belmont Park, earning a career high Beyer Speed Figure of 100, while handily defeating three stakes winners, with Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint 2nd place finisher Chalon among them.
A daughter of top sire Candy Ride, Separationofpowers is out of the Empire Maker mare, Shehadmefromhello, and is a half-sister to the stakes winning Empire of War.
“Separationofpowers’ debut victory in Saratoga was the most impressive performance of any first-time starter I have ever trained,” said trainer Chad Brown. “She is a brilliantly fast horse with a ton of class and natural ability.”
