Hip 320, a colt by Empire Maker, sold for $300,000 at The July Sale. The bay colt was purchased by Steven W. Young, agent from the consignment of Shawhan Place, agent for Austin & Brendan Paul.
By the sire of Grade 1 winner and Triple Crown sire Pioneerof the Nile, this colt is out of a Bernardini half-sister to Grade 1 winner Snow Ridge and track record-setting stakes winner Pavarotti. The colt hails from the immediate family of Grade 1 winners Afleet Express, Materiality, and Embellish the Lace, as well as multiple Grade 2 winning millionaire Fiftyshadesofhay.
Hip 320 was bred in Kentucky.
