Runhappy Filly to McPeek, Selective for $225,000
Hip 202, a filly from the first crop of Champion Sprinter Runhappy sold for $225,000 at The July Sale. The bay filly was purchased by Kenneth McPeek, agent for Selective LLC from the consignment of Michael & Julia O'Quinn, agent.
This filly is from the first crop of Runhappy, track record-setting winner of the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1), as well as two other Grade 1 races, on his way to becoming 2015's Eclipse Champion Sprinter. Hip 202 is out of the Seeking the Gold mare Enth, who has produced five winners from starters to date, including multiple stakes winning filly Sower, who is also twice Graded Stakes placed. Enth is herself a half-sister to a pair of stakes winners and to the dam of Iowa Oaks (G3) winner Size. This is the immediate family of Champion Blame and Grade 1 winner Jade Robbery.
Hip 202 was bred in Kentucky by Forty Oaks. She is a graduate of the Fasig-Tipton November Sale, where she sold as a selected weanling last year for $135,000 to Artic Bloodstock.
