Quality Road Colt Sells for $250,000
Hip 1492, a colt by Quality Road, sold for $250,000 during the final session of the Kentucky October Yearlings sale. The bay colt was purchased by Marc Tacher from the consignment of Bridie Harrison, agent for Peter E. Blum Thoroughbreds.
Quality Road has four Grade 1 winners to date in 2019, and is the leading North American sire by that metric. Those Grade 1 winners include Pegasus World Cup Invitational S. (G1) winner City of Light and Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Roadster, as well as Bellafina and Dunbar Road.
This colt is out a the Empire Maker mare Unforgettable, already the dam of four winners, including Memorable, a winner this year at 2 with earnings approaching $100,000. Dam is a half-sister to eight winners, including Grade 2 winner Academy Award; graded stakes winner Statuette, dam of stakes winner Tomahawk; and graded stakes winner Good Mood, herself the granddam of Grade 1 winner Golden Ticket. This is the immediate family of Grade1 winners Well Chosen and Telling.
