Katsumi Yoshida Captures Fourstar Crook for $1,500,000
FOURSTAR CROOK, winner of this year’s Flower Bowl S. (G1), sold for $1,500,000 at The November Sale. Offered as Hip 195, the FREUD mare was purchased by Katsumi Yoshida from the consignment of ELiTE, agent. The six-year-old New York-bred was sold as a racing and/or broodmare prospect.
FOURSTAR CROOK donned her Grade 1 laurels this year at six, but was already a multiple graded stakes winning millionaire before her Flower Bowl S. (G1) victory. This mare only got better with age: placed at two and a winner at three, FOURSTAR CROOK won the John Hettinger S. at four, then reeled off three stakes wins at five, including the Dr. James Penny Memorial S. (G3). This year at six, she won the New York S. (G2) and the Hillsborough S. (G2) before capturing her Grade 1 win. FOURSTAR CROOK won or placed in 17 of 20 for owners Michael Dubb, Bethlehem Stables, and Gary Aisquith and trainer Chad Brown, with earnings of $1,624,566.
FOURSTAR CROOK hails from the immediate family of Grade 1 winners MR. FRITZ and TALLON, and multiple Grade 2 winner HONORABLE MISS.
