Leading Sire Not This Time Accounts for Top Price During Final Session of Kentucky October Yearlings

The 2026 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale concluded Thursday evening with the final of four sessions held at the Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, KY.
A colt by leading sire Not This Time (hip 1455) topped the session when sold for $500,000 to West Coast Racing from the consignment of Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for Summer Wind Equine. The colt is the first foal out of the winning Uncle Mo mare Mozay, from the immediate family of Grade/Group 1 winners Sandman, Music Note, Mystic Guide, and Musical Chimes. Hip 1455 was bred in Kentucky by Summer Wind Equine.
"It was a near record breaking sale for the 2026 Kentucky October Yearlings sale," said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. "All in all, there was a significant level of commerce transacted over the last four days. It was a solid marketplace from start to finish."
Good Horse for Morplay Racing went to $485,000 to secure the session's top-priced filly, a daughter of Into Mischief (hip 1541) consigned by Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa, agent. The filly is out of the graded stakes winning Distorted Humor mare Painting, from the immediate family of Canadian champion Serenading and Blue Grass S. (G1) winner Brilliant Speed. Hip 1541 was bred in Canada by Hill 'n' Dale Equine Holdings, NETP, Windsor Boys, and Kotpil.
"I loved her physical," said Morplay Racing's Cam Dulger. "She looked really fast. We're looking for runners with a little bit of pedigree."
Rounding out the top three prices of the session was an Authentic colt (hip 1498), sold for $400,000 to Gold Square LLC from the consignment of Woods Edge Farm, agent. The colt is out of the Street Sense mare Nora's Joy, who has produced two graded stakes winners from starters to date: Tirupati (Mitole) and this colt's fill sister Brave Deb. The immediate family includes multiple Grade 1 winner Fowda.
"For the right horses, the market's strong," said trainer Chad Summers, who signed for hip 1498 on behalf of Gold Square LLC. "I guess Kenny McPeek was bidding on the horse and Kenny has a good eye, too. We tried to get aggressive and tried to get him to back down and he just kept going. I got blessed to have a great owner in Gold Square to be able to get the horse."
The sale toppers sold during the Tuesday session, when an Uncle Mo filly and Into Mischief colt shared topped billing when sold for $800,000 each.
Overall, 1096 yearlings sold for $65,920,000, good for an average of $60,146. The median held steady at $30,000 over last year's record-setting renewal. The RNA rate was 18.6%.
