Photo Call Sells for $2,700,00 to Katsumi Yoshida
Photo Call (IRE), a multiple Grade 1 winning daughter of supersire Galileo (IRE), sold for $2,700,000 at The November Sale. The bay mare was purchased by Katsumi Yoshida from the consignment of Denali Stud, agent. She was offered in foal to Quality Road as Hip 166.
Just eight years old, Photo Call was a force to be reckoned with on the track. A graded stakes placed winner at two, she came into her own at four, winning the Rodeo Drive S. (G1) and Violet S. (G3). At five, she captured the First Lady S. (G1) over dual champion and Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) winner Tepin, in addition to winning the Orchid S. (G3).
Photo Call started 22 times, with six wins, three second, and four thirds, and career earnings of $827,102.
As a broodmare, she has a yearling filly by War Front and produced an Uncle Mo colt this year. She is pregnant to Quality Road. Her sire is the broodmare sire of Eclipse Champion Turf Female of 2018 an that year's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) winner Sistercharlie (IRE), a seven-time Grade 1 winner.
Photo Call is out of the group stakes winning Rock of Gibraltar (IRE) mare Theann, making her a half-sister to Group 2 winner Land Force. She is a close relative of European highweights and Group 1 winners Rhododendron (IRE) and Magical (IRE), in addition to Irish 1000 Guineas (G1) winner Halfway to Heaven (IRE).
