Stakes Winner Clint Maroon (GB) Sells for $200,000
Clint Maroon (GB), winner of the Woodhaven S. earlier this year at Aqueduct, sold for $200,000 at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. Offered as Hip 440 by WinStar Racing, agent, the three-year-old son of Oasis Dream (GB) was purchased by Walden Bloodstock.
A gray or roan gelding, Clint Maroon (GB) broke his maiden in February at Gulfstream Park, then captured an allowance there in March before coming home the a four-length winner of the Woodhaven S. at Aqueduct in April. He has earned $126,995 to date.
Clint Maroon (GB) is out of the group stakes placed El Prado (IRE) mare Lady Aquitaine, dam of five winners, including this gelding's half-sister Lady Kyushu, a multiple group stakes placed stakes winner in France. The immediate family includes Champion Durtal (IRE) and Group 1 winners Roderic O'Connor, Gildoran, and Magicool.
