A colt from the first crop of Triple Crown hero AMERICAN PHAROAH sold for $300,000 early during the second session of The October Sale. Offered as Hip 383, the bay colt was purchased by Alistair Roden Bloodstock from the consignment of Denali Stud, agent.

This colt is a half-brother to three winners from as many to race out of the unraced A.P. INDY mare DANCEINTHESUNLIGHT. Most notable of those winners is 2014 Whitney S. (G1) winner MORENO, a multiple graded stakes winning earner of nearly $3,000,000. DANCEINTHESUNLIGHT is out of Canadian champion and Saratoga Grade 1 winner DANCETHRUTHEDAWN, a full sister to Queen’s Plate S. winner SCATTER THE GOLD. This is the immediate family of Horse of the Year and three-time champion DANCE SMARTLY, a half-sister herself to Grade 1 winner and two-time leading sire SMART STRIKE and to Grade 1 winner FULL OF WONDER.

Hip 383 was bred in Kentucky by Pursuit of Success LLC.
