Catalogue for The July Sale Now Online

Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 348 selected yearlings for The July Sale, to be held on Tuesday, July 13, at the company’s Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Kentucky.  The sale will begin at 10 am.

“Fasig-Tipton selected yearling sales return to their traditional spots on the calendar in 2021, starting with a strong renewal of The July Sale,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “The sale will begin with the Freshman Sire Showcase – a long-time element of the July Sale that we are reintroducing this year – which will offer the first yearlings by 2021’s exciting group of Freshman sires.  The sale will then transition into the more proven sire-heavy part of the catalogue.  Overall, our ‘proven’ sire-power has increased again this year.”

According to statistics recently released by The BloodHorse MarketWatch, July is ranked number two among major North American yearling sales by percentage of graded stakes winners, stakes winners, and earners of $150,000 or more from horses sold.  July only trails Fasig-Tipton’s Saratoga Sale in these categories.

“If you want to achieve success at the highest levels, you need to buy in July,” continued Browning.  “The sale annually offers precocious, athletic yearlings, and one look at this year’s catalogue cover will tell you the quality of runners July annually generates.”

The front cover of this year’s catalogue features recent Grade 1 winners Bell’s the One, Kimari, and Speech. Pictured on the back cover are five prominent 2021 graded stakes winners in Chess’s Dream, Kalypso, Leinster, Mighty Mischief, and Special Reserve.  Just this past weekend, July graduate Lone Rock led a Fasig-Tipton trifecta in the Brooklyn Stakes (G2) on Belmont day.

Nominations are also now open for Fasig-Tipton’s July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale, which will be held the day prior to The July Sale, on Monday, July 12.  Fasig-Tipton will accept nominations up until sale time; however to make the initial catalogue release, entries should be finalized by June 18.

“The market for racehorses is very strong right now, and the sale’s placement ahead of the lucrative summer race meets make this auction immensely popular with buyers,” Browning noted.

The July Sale catalogue may now be viewed online and will also be available via the Equineline catalogue app.  Print catalogues will be available beginning June 14.
