Fasig-Tipton conducted a successful renewal of The November Sale Sunday at Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, KY. The World's Premier Breeding Stock Event featured a selection of leading racing and/or broodmare prospects, broodmares, and weanlings. The sale posted its second highest gross of all time, led by five fillies and mares sold for $4,000,000 or more, and set a world record for a racing/broodmare prospect sold at public auction.

Two-time Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) winner Monomoy Girl topped the sale when sold for $9,500,000 to Spendthrift Farm from the consignment of ELiTE, agent. The price set a world record for racing/broodmare prospect sold at public auction and tied for the third highest price ever realized at The November Sale, set in 2017 by Songbird. Offered as Hip 192, the five-year-old daughter of Tapizar is a seven-time Grade 1 winner whose top scores include two editions of the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) and a victory in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). Monomoy Girl has won 13 of 15 starts to date, and her $4,426,818 in earnings rank her sixth on the list of North American dirt-based female earners of all time. Monomoy Girl was campaigned by owners Michael Dubb, Monomoy Stables, The Elkstone Group (Stuart Grant), and Bethlehem Stables and trainer Brad Cox.

Rushing Fall, winner of the 2017 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1), was the night's top selling broodmare prospect, earning a final bid of $5,500,000 from Jamie McCalmont, agent for M.V. Magnier. Offered as Hip 205 by Indian Creek, agent, Rushing Fall was a Grade 1 winner every year from ages 2 through 5, a feat matched only by future Hall of Famers Lady Eli and Beholder. The daughter of More Than Ready won 11 of 15 career starts and earned $2,893,000. Rushing Fall was campaigned by owner e Five Racing Thoroughbreds and trainer Chad Brown.

Last year's Eclipse Champion Older Dirt Female Midnight Bisou rounded out the top three sellers when sold as a broodmare prospect to Chuck Allen for $5,000,000. Offered as Hip 185 by ELiTE, agent, Midnight Bisou won or placed in all of her 22 career starts, with 13 wins – all graded stakes – and earnings of $7,471,000. She retired this year as the leading North American-based dirt female of all time. Midnight Bisou was campaigned by owners Bloom Racing, Madaket Stables, and Allen Racing and trainer Steve Asmussen.

The sale's top broodmare was multiple Grade 1 winner Bast, purchased for $4,200,000 by Spendthrift Farm from the consignment of Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency, agent. Offered as Hip 245, Bast is carrying her first foal by 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify. On the track, Bast held the distinction of being the only two-year-old of either sex to win three Grade 1 stakes in 2019. Bast was campaigned by owner Baoma Corporation and trainer Bob Baffert.

In addition, White Birch Farm went to $4,100,000 to obtain last year's Eclipse Champion Turf Female Uni (GB) (Hip 228), consigned as a racing and/or broodmare prospect by ELiTE, agent. A three-time Grade 1 winner, Uni's most notable wins came in last year's Breeders' Cup Mile (G1), where she defeated males, and in a course record-setting performance in the 2019 First Lady S. (G1). OUni was campaigned by Michael Dubb, Head of Plains Partners, Robert LaPenta, and Bethlehem Stables and trainer Chad Brown.

Among the selected weanlings showcased, a colt from the first crop of Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) winner City of Light led the way when sold for $600,000 to OXO Equine. Offered as Hip 129 by Hunter Valley, agent, the colt is out of the winning Into Mischief mare Breaking Beauty, from the family of European champion Bakharoff. Hip 129 was bred in Kentucky by Camas Park Stud.

A pair of weanlings sold for $400,000 on either end of the session. The first through the ring was Hip 30, a filly from the first crop of Justify purchased by Breeze Easy LLC from the consignment of Four Star Sales, agent. The filly was bred in Kentucky by Magnolia Bloodstock & Lynches Bages LTD. The third-to-last through the ring was Hip 286, a colt by soon-to-be two-time Leading Sire Into Mischief, purchased by Jess Amorella, agent from the consignment of Bluewater Sales, agent. The colt was bred in Kentucky by Southern Equine Stables.

Overall, 142 horses changed hands for a total of $80,237,000, an 18% increase in gross from 2019 and the second highest gross all-time for The November Sale. The average rose 6% to $565,049, with a median of $200,000. Twenty-two fillies and mares sold for $1,000,000 or more.
