Chelsea Market (Hip 460), in foal to Pioneerof the Nile, sold for $250,000 during the second session of the Kentucky Winter Mixed sale. The four-year-old mare was purchased by Stonereath Stud from the consignment of Bill Murphy, agent.

Chelsea Market is an unraced daughter of Verrazano out of the winning Danehill mare Josette (IRE), making her a half-sister to six winners, including stakes winner Woodwin W (More Than Ready) and Helena Bay (GB), herself the dam of Grade 1 winner and multimillionaire Collected. This is the immediate family of champions Blushing Groom (FR) and Agnes Digital.

The mare is carrying her first foal, by the late Pioneerof the Nile, sire of Triple Crown champion and last year's Leading Freshman Sire American Pharoah, as well as undefeated Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) and Robert B. Lewis S. (G3) winner Thousand Words.
