Hip 451, a colt from the first crop of Grade 2 winner Unified, sold for $100,000 during the second session of the Kentucky Winter Mixed sale. The dark bay or brown colt was purchased by Knockgriffin Farm from the consignment of Bluewater Sales, agent.

A graduate of The Saratoga Sale, Unified won four of seven career starts, including the Peter Pan S. (G2), Bay Shore S. (G3), and Gulfstream Park Sprint S. (G3). Also runner up in the Carter H. (G1), Unified retired with earnings of $476,880.

This colt is the second foal out of the winning Mineshaft mare Causin Commotion. That mare is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Storm Mesa and stakes winner She Be Classy. Third dam is Irish multiple group stakes winner Flowing, and the immediate family includes Grade 1 winner Dr. Root and seedy Grade 2 winner Crockadore.

Hip 451 was bred in Kentucky by Nancy Mazzoni.
