Horse of the Year Wonder Gadot to K I Farm for $2,000,000
Horse of the Year Wonder Gadot sold for $2,000,000 as a broodmare prospect at The November Sale. The dark bay or brown filly was purchased by K I Farm from the consignment of Bluewater Sales, agent. She was offered as Hip 196.
Wonder Gadot won the Mazarine S. (G3) and placed in the Natalma S. (G1) in Canada and the Demoselle S. (G2) in the United States on her way Sovereign Champion Two-Year-Old Filly honors. At three, she scored impressively again the boys in the $1M Queen's Plate and the Prince of Wales S., the first two legs of the Canadian Tripe Crown. She was also runner up to subsequent Eclipse Champion Three-Year-Old Filly Monomoy Girl in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). Her three-year-old campaign earned her top honors, as she was named Canada's Horse of the Year and Champion Three-Year-Old Filly.
In 18 career starts, Wonder Gadot recorded five wins, five seconds, and four thirds and earnings $1,524,861. She was campaigned by owner Gary Barber and trainer Mark Casse.
Wonder Gadot is by super sire Medaglia d'Oro, whose daughters have already produced Grade 1 winners Rock Fall and Rachel's Valentina and champion Mr Havercamp. Wonder Gadot is one of three winers out of the Vindication mare Loving Vindication, including her stakes winning full brother Solemn Tribute and stakes placed Hard Not to Love, scheduled to make her next start in the La Brea S. (G1).
Second dam is graded stakes winner Chimichurri, who produced the dams of not only Wonder Gadot and Solemn Tribute, but of Grade 1 winner Secret Spice, who sold for $1,400,00 earlier this evening, and stakes winner Elusive Mischief.
