Stonestreet to $2,400,000 for Mia Mischief
Mia Mischief, a Grade 1 winner by Leading Sire Into Mischief, sold for $2,400,000 at The November Sale. The bay filly was purchased by Stonestreet Stables LLC from the consignment of ELiTE, agent. She was offered as Hip 150.
Into Mischief is at the top of the general sire rankings this year, due in large part to Mia Mischief and Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) winner Covfefe. Mia Mischief was her sire's first Grade 1 winning female, and is second only to the afore mentioned Breeders' Cup champion in earnings among her sire's female runners.
Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt purchased Mia Mischief for $300,000 from the consignment of McKathan Bros. at The Gulfstream Sale of selected two-year-olds in training in 2017. She won twice that year at two and was stakes placed. At three, she won the Eight Belles S. (G2) on the Kentucky Oaks (G1) undercard and the Purple Martin S., and was placed in the Test S. (G1) and Prioress S. (G2) at the prestigious Saratoga meet. This year, Mia Mischief captured the Humana Distaff S. (G1) at Churchill Downs, defeating Grade 1 winners Marley's Freedom and Spiced Perfection. She followed up that score with a win in the Roxelana Overnight S., defeating a field which included next-out Grade 1 winner and 2019 Breeders' Cup champion Covfefe, and in her most start, she captured the Dream Supreme S. by a 5 lengths, winning geared down.
All told, Mia Mischief has made 19 starts to date, with eight wins, six seconds, and a third, and earnings of $1,083,834.
In addition to her impressive race record, Mia Mischief boast a pedigree rich with black type. She is a half-sister to three out winners out of the Speightstown mare Greer Lynn, who sold for $700,000 earlier this evening as Hip 125. Second dam is multiple stakes winner Roll Over Baby, who won 10 of her 19 starts. That mare produced no less than nine winners, including graded stakes winners Sing Baby Sing and Roll Hennessy Roll; multiple Grade 1 placed stakes winner and Grade 1 sire Value Plus; and stakes winner Majorbigtimesheet.
