Mike Machowsky Named Fasig-Tipton California Representative

Fasig-Tipton has named trainer Mike Machowsky to be the company’s full-time California Representative, effective mid-February.  Machowsky will no longer operate his public stable as he begins his new role, which will principally consist of promoting Fasig-Tipton’s inaugural auctions at Santa Anita, which will commence this year.

“As we organize our California division, we are pleased to have an individual of Mike’s experience and expertise to represent us year-round on the West Coast,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “Mike has worked in the California Thoroughbred industry his entire life, including nearly 30 years as a Grade 1 winning trainer.  His knowledge of California’s owners, trainers, and breeders should prove valuable as we begin to put together our auctions at Santa Anita.”

In addition to recruiting buyers and sellers to Fasig-Tipton’s June Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale and Fall Yearling Sale at Santa Anita, Machowsky will promote overall awareness of the Fasig-Tipton brand, and serve as a point of contact for any general inquiries from California connections regarding Fasig-Tipton’s nationwide auction schedule.

“I am very excited to be representing Fasig-Tipton in California, and look forward to working with the state’s breeders, owners, and trainers to conduct first-class auctions at Santa Anita Park,” commented Machowsky.  “I want to extend my sincerest appreciation to all the owners, staff, and many others who have supported me throughout my training career.”

Fasig-Tipton announced this past July that it would conduct two auctions at Santa Anita, beginning in 2019.  The company’s first sale will be a Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale on June 5, followed by a Fall Yearling Sale, scheduled for September 25.  Both auctions will be held in Santa Anita’s historic walking ring.
