Curlin Colt Sells for $250,000
Hip 1291, a colt by two-time Horse of the Year Curlin, sold for $250,000 during the final session of the Kentucky October Yearlings sale. The chestnut colt was purchased by P. Miller, EQB Inc., agent from the consignment of Baccari Bloodstock LLC, agent.
Curlin has already sired four champions to date, including Eclipse Champion Two-Year-Old Male Good Magic and classic winner Exaggerator. He is the sire this year of Vino Rosso, winner of the Cold Cup at Santa Anita S. (G1).
This is the first foal out of a Giant's Causeway half-sister to Canadian Horse of the Year Up With the Birds, a multiple graded stakes winning earner of nearly $1,400,000. Dam is also a half-sister to stakes winner Speightsong. Third dam is champion and Grade 1 winner Wilderness Song, who earned nearly $1,500,000, and of graded stakes winners Strike Softly and Golden Sabre.
Hip 1291 was bred in Kentucky by Breeze Easy, LLC.
