Uncle Mo Colt Sells for $250,000 to Open Final Session of Kentucky October Yearlings
Hip 1189, a colt by Uncle Mo, sold for $250,000 as the first hip through the ring during the fourth and final session of the Kentucky October Yearlings sale. The bay colt was purchased by SBM, agent from the consignment of Bluewater Sales.
Uncle Mo set records as Leading Freshman Sire of 2015. He is the sire to date of top colts like dual Eclipse Champion and classic winner Nyquist and Grade 1 winners Outwork and Mo Town.
Out of Group 2 winner Sarasota (ARG), this colt is a half-brother to six from as many to race, including Grade 1 winner Salutos Amigos, a six-time graded stakes winning earner of more than $1,500,000. He is also a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Sarah's Secret and Group 3 placed Sun Goddess. The two-year-old out of this mare, a Curlin filly now named Saralin, sold for $1,300,000 at The Gulfstream Sale in March. This is the immediate family of dual champion and Group 1 winner Solyluz.
