Hip 174, a colt by two-time Horse of the Year Curlin, sold for $1,500,000 during the second session of The Saratoga Sale. The chestnut colt was purchased by a power-packed partnership of West Point, Woodford, Siena, Valdes, Singleton, Sandbrook, & Freeman from the consignment of Stone Farm, agent.

This colt is by Curlin, sire of top colts like last year's Champion Two-Year-Old Male Good Magic and classic winners Exaggerator and Palace Malice.

Hip 174 is the first foal out of graded stakes winner and twice-Grade 1 placed America, by top broodmare sire A.P. Indy. This is the immediate family of champions Malinowski, Xaar, Peeping Fawn, and Rags to Riches; Grade 1 winners Blush With Pride, Chimes of Freedom, Senure, Thewayyouare, and Jazil; and Broodmare of the Year and Grade 2 winner Better Than Honour.

The January foal was bred in Kentucky by B. Flay Thoroughbreds.
