Hip 157 is out of the Mineshaft mare Wide Range, whose first two foals are both winners, including graded stakes winner, four-time stakes winner, and track record-setter Mico Margarita (Run Away and Hide). Second dam is Grade 2 winner Ivanavinalot, making this colt's dam a half-sister to multiple champion Songbird – also by Medaglia d'Oro.
