Mike Ryan to $300,000 for Into Mischief Colt

Hip 543, a colt by Into Mischief, sold for $300,000 during the final session of the Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale. The dark bay or brown colt was purchased by Mike Ryan, agent from the consignment of Niall Brennan Stables, agent after working a quarter in 22.2 during the under tack show (video).

Into Mischief is having a banner Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale, with seven juveniles sold for six figures or more, including the current record-breaking session topping filly. His is the sire of successful two-year-old colts like Practical Joke, Instagrand, and Maximus Mischief, and has three champions and 22 graded blacktype winners from his first seven crops of racing age (excludes two-year-olds of 2019).

This colt is the first foal out of the Tiznow mare Tiz a Chick, a full sister to Grade 2 winner Tizahit, herself the dam of recent Ruffian S. (G2) winner Come Dancing. Tiz a Chick is also a half-sister to Skipstone, dam of stakes winner Skipalute, who is twice graded stakes placed. Third dam is multiple graded stakes winner Jeano, who produced the dams of champion Folklore and stakes winners Student Body, Queens Plaza, and Divided Attention. Fourth dam is Delaware H. (G1) winner Basie, ancestress if champion Smarty Jones.
