Hip 350, a colt from the first crop of Triple Crown hero American Pharoah, sold for $530,000 during the final session of the Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale. The bay colt was purchased by Tom Durant from the consignment of Paul Sharp, agent after working an eighth in 10.3 during the under tack show (video).

This colt is from the first crop of American Pharoah, a graduate of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale who was a champion at 2 and 3, Horse of the Year at 3, and winner of the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) in 2015. In sum, he won eight Grade 1 races and earned more than $8.6 million.

Hip 350 is out of the winner-producing Tapit mare Our Love Tap, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Dearest Trickski and a full sister to graded stakes placed winner to Gray Sky. This is the immediate family of last term’s American Oaks (G1) winner Competitionofideas.
